The marathon is an annual sporting event organized by the CDJS/ECOWAS with the support of the ECOWAS Commission. Its aim is to promote regional integration, using sport as a mobilizing tool to bring people together.
Each participant who complies with the rules receives a T-shirt with his or her number printed on it
